EESI's board of directors adopted the following board resolution establishing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as core EESI values

The Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) board of directors adopted a resolution in January 2020 establishing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as core organizational values to improve effectiveness and promote an equitable transition to a clean energy economy.

• In January 2020, the EESI board of directors formally adopted Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as core values, asserting that diversity is inextricably linked to sustainable energy advocacy and enhances the organization's overall effectiveness.
• The resolution identifies that climate change creates disproportionate burdens for specific groups, including indigenous people, communities of color, and low-income communities, as well as those who have historically experienced institutional discrimination and racism.
• To implement these values and ensure accountability, the EESI Board of Directors established a Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to provide guidance on the development and implementation of new programs and policies.
