South Tacoma Warehouse Project

Earthjustice describes a legal and community challenge against a mega-warehouse project in South Tacoma, Washington, which was approved in April 2023 without an Environmental Impact Statement despite being located on a Superfund site and a community aquifer.

• The warehouse is expected to generate thousands of daily vehicle trips from diesel trucks and other vehicles, contributing to air and climate pollution, noise, and traffic. These emissions, along with gas-powered heaters onsite, are cited as potential obstacles to Washington's climate goals.
