Are Americans angry at Wall Street bankers? Do they support the Occupy Wall Street protests?

A November 2011 national survey reveals that while support for the Occupy Wall Street protests varied significantly by political affiliation, a majority of all surveyed groups expressed anger toward Wall Street bankers.

• Support for the Occupy Wall Street protests was highest among Democrats (83%) and Independents (74%), and lowest among Republicans (42%) and Tea Party members (32%).
• A majority of all political groups surveyed reported being somewhat to extremely angry at Wall Street bankers, including Democrats (78%), Independents (81%), Republicans (59%), and Tea Party members (65%).
