Progress is imperfect but it’s still progress

Rachael Orr, CEO of Climate Outreach, reflects on her first year with the organisation and outlines strategic priorities for the coming decade, focusing on research dissemination, political inclusivity, and sector diversity.

• Climate Outreach aims to increase the accessibility and reach of its research, noting that significant amounts of valuable data remain underutilised in PDF format on its website.
• The organisation emphasises the importance of communicating climate change to the centre right to prevent the issue from becoming overly politicised or viewed exclusively as a concern for activists and the left.
• The climate sector is described as lacking in diversity, which may contribute to climate change feeling distant from the everyday lives of people from various faiths and social backgrounds.
• Climate Outreach intends to shift the narrative of climate change from being a standalone topic to an underpinning element of all aspects of life, while increasing the visibility of existing progress and success stories.
