Case study: Conservative Environment Network

Climate Outreach provided practical communication training to participants of the Conservative Environment Network (CEN) Academy, a residential course for young UK Conservatives. The training focused on using authentic personal stories and conservative-aligned communication strategies to advocate for the environment and engage in cross-party conversations.

• Climate Outreach workshops at the CEN Academy focused on helping participants develop authentic climate narratives by exploring the personal stories and lived experiences, such as flooding, that motivate their desire to protect the environment.
• The training was designed specifically for a conservative audience, emphasizing the use of standard communication methods and existing government institutions to advocate for environmental protection.
• Participation in the program led at least one attendee, Melissa Hussain, to promote conservative environmentalism via social media and engage in environmental discussions across party lines.
