SB60 | BONN CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE 2024

The document details the role of Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) at the SB60 conference in Bonn, highlighting an expert dialogue on children and climate change, the identification of implementation challenges, and the goal of scaling up the involvement of civil society and marginalised groups to inform the annual summary report for COP29.

• Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) is structured around six pillars: climate change education, public awareness, training, public participation, public access to information (transparency), and international cooperation, with the goal of empowering all society members to engage in climate action.
• The SB60 agenda for ACE includes an expert dialogue on the impacts of climate change on children, as well as efforts to identify implementation challenges and scale up the roles of business, civil society, and marginalised groups.
• Following the Glasgow Work Programme, ACE sessions at SB60 will focus on monitoring, evaluation, reporting, policy coherence, tools, support, and coordinated action, with outcomes to be included in the annual summary report for COP29.
