Practical tips for Climate Week NYC

The guide offers ten tips for Climate Week NYC 2025 attendees, focusing on time management, attire, networking strategies, and mental well-being. It emphasizes the need for buffer time for security and travel, the importance of prioritizing events to avoid burnout, and the value of authentic connections over corporate jargon and 'spin'. Logistical advice includes using unlimited data for navigation and preparing outfits in advance to reduce mental load.

• Attendees should account for significant travel and security delays, particularly when accessing the UN HQ, and incorporate daily downtime to maintain stamina.
• Due to the high volume of events, attendees are advised to triage their schedules and focus on specific communities and goals rather than attempting to attend everything.
• The author suggests prioritizing authentic human connections and 'truth-tellers' over networking characterized by 'grandstanding', corporate 'spin', and the repetitive use of jargon such as 'collaboration', 'trust', 'partnerships', and 'impact'.
• Lack of technological access for visitors from global majority countries creates a significant barrier to inclusivity when navigating New York City.
