Un llamado a fortalecer la educación sobre el cambio climático para todos los profesionales de la salud

The WHO-Civil Society Working Group calls for the systemic integration of climate and health competencies into medical and health professional education to ensure practitioners can respond to climate-related health risks. The letter highlights a global lack of such programs and institutional barriers, while providing a list of existing regional and global courses as models for implementation.

• Health professionals have an ethical and professional obligation to understand current and future climate and environmental issues to fulfill their duties to society and patients, as climate change is already impacting health systems and disproportionately affecting indigenous and disadvantaged communities.
• Global surveys indicate a deficiency in climate change education for future physicians and identify institutional lack of support as a significant barrier to integrating climate and health content into health professional curricula.
