Minister Victoria Prentis addresses concerns from ClientEarth and other eNGOs regarding their participation in fisheries consultations and the operational status of the Specialised Committee on Fisheries under the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA).

• The Specialised Committee on Fisheries, intended as a forum for sustainable fisheries management, cannot become operational until the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) is ratified by the European Parliament.
• The UK government published the Agreed Record on fisheries consultations between the EU, Norway, and the UK on 16 March 2021, and expects to publish the UK-Norway Agreed Record within approximately one month, pending agreement on 2021 fishing opportunities.
• Environmental non-Governmental organizations (eNGOs) participated in plenary sessions for the first annual UK-EU fisheries consultations, although they were unable to attend the trilateral consultations.
