H1 2019 green bond market report

The H1 2019 green bond market report by the Climate Bonds Initiative highlights HSBC as the leading global and emerging market underwriter and Euronext Amsterdam as the top listing venue. • In the first half of 2019, HSBC was the top global green bond underwriter and also the largest green bond underwriter in emerging markets.
• Euronext Amsterdam was the leading venue for green bond listings during H1 2019.
• Regarding sovereign green bonds, 5 out of 13 attracted a higher book cover than their vanilla equivalents, and 10 out of 11 achieved larger spread compression than equivalents.
• In the green Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) market, the largest components of issuance are Agency green MBS, as well as Solar and PACE ABS.
