This section of the Climate Bonds Standard outlines the conditions under which projects and assets can be certified based on external sustainable finance taxonomies or frameworks listed in the Climate Bonds External Taxonomy Eligibility Register (ETER).

• Projects and assets are eligible for Asset Certification or Use of Proceeds if they fully comply with external sustainable finance taxonomies or frameworks that meet the Climate Bonds Equivalence Methodology for Climate Mitigation and are listed as 'Equivalent' in the Climate Bonds External Taxonomy Eligibility Register (ETER), provided they adhere to any ETER-specified conditions or DNSH requirements.
• Debt instruments may remain eligible for certification even if they finance activities not listed as Equivalent in the ETER, as long as those specific proceeds do not exceed 5% of the total proceeds and they satisfy the requirements of paragraph A.3.1.5.
• When an Approved Verifier uses ETER criteria to determine eligibility under the Climate Bonds Standard, the resulting verification report is required to explain how that eligibility was confirmed using the ETER.
