Green Bond Fact Sheet

The Kincardine Offshore Windfarm issued a Certified Climate Loan of GBP380m (USD481m) on June 12, 2020, to finance the world's largest floating offshore wind farm located off the coast of Aberdeen.

• On June 12, 2020, the Kincardine Offshore Windfarm issued a loan amounting to GBP380m (USD481m). This represents the first instance of a floating offshore windfarm being financed via a Certified Climate Loan, verified by Vigeo Eiris under the Climate Bonds Standard v2.1, specifically the Sector Criteria for Marine Renewable Energy.
• The project consists of a floating wind farm located 15km off the coast of Aberdeen, scheduled to become operational in late 2020. It is described as the largest floating offshore wind farm in the world, featuring six turbines with a total installed capacity of 50MW. These turbines reach a height of 190m and are moored in water depths reaching 80m.
• The company developing the wind farm is owned by Grupo Cobra, an infrastructure group based in Spain. Natixis served as the green loan coordinator for the deal.
