• The net proceeds of the bond are intended for renewable energy projects, specifically the construction and manufacture of equipment for solar power, wind power (both onshore and offshore), and the associated transmission and storage. This investment is expected to avoid 14,546 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
• The Climate Bonds Initiative notes that wind power is a common climate theme for eligible green bonds in Taiwan. Following the announcement of renewable energy feed-in tariff (FiT) rates for 2020 at the end of 2019, which included a 7.64% reduction in the offshore wind rate, a surge in green bond issuance in this sector is expected for the year.
