Green Bond Fact Sheet

The Benton Washington Regional Public Water Authority of the State of Arkansas issued a USD 59 million US Muni green bond on November 1, 2019, to fund water distribution and treatment infrastructure improvements and refund existing bonds. The issuance, rated AA by S&P and assured by BAM GreenStar, represents the largest such issuance from Arkansas to date.

• The Benton Washington Regional Public Water Authority of the State of Arkansas issued USD 59 million in US Muni green bonds on November 1, 2019, with a tenor of 24.9 years and a credit rating of AA from S&P.
• Proceeds from the issuance are designated for water distribution and water treatment. Specifically, funds will be used to refund existing water revenue refunding bonds and finance the acquisition, construction, and equipping of water facility extensions and improvements, including water lines, a ground storage tank, a high service pump and motor, and the relocation of a water main.
• The issuance is noted as the largest to date from Arkansas. The deal received assurance from BAM GreenStar, although the issuer has stated no commitment to reporting.
