Green Bond Fact Sheet

This fact sheet provides details on a JPY 5 billion green bond issued by Activia Properties Inc. (API), a Japanese real estate investment trust, on July 9, 2019, to fund certified green buildings and energy-efficient refurbishments.

• The bond's proceeds are designated for the acquisition of new or existing buildings meeting specific green certification criteria, refurbishments meeting efficiency targets, or the refinancing of existing loans and bonds allocated to such projects.
• Eligible buildings (Criteria A) must achieve the top two levels of certification from CASBEE (A or S Rank), the DBJ Green Building Certification Program (4 or 5 Stars), or BELS (4 or 5 Stars). Eligible refurbishments (Criteria B) must achieve a reduction of more than 10% in CO2 emissions, energy consumption, or water consumption, or improve their green building certification level.
• API intends to reduce the average energy consumption per property and across its entire portfolio by 1% annually.
• The issuer committed to annual reporting on its website every May regarding the list of eligible projects, allocation status, and indicators for energy, emissions, water, and waste until the bond matures.
