Green Bond Fact Sheet

Etrion Corporation issued a JPY16.7bn green loan on July 2, 2019, to finance the 45MW Niigata solar project in Japan. This marks the first green loan for renewable energy in Japan. The project is expected to be operational by Q4 2021, producing 47GWh annually for over 13,000 households, supported by an 18-year power purchase agreement with Tohoku.

• Etrion Corporation issued a green loan on July 2, 2019, for JPY16.7bn (approximately USD155m) with a maturity date of July 2, 2036, and a tenor of 17 years. The all-in non-recourse project loan interest rate is 1.2%.
• The proceeds of the loan are dedicated to financing the construction of the 45MW Niigata solar project in the Niigata prefecture of northern Japan. Construction started in July 2019, with full operational status expected by the fourth quarter of 2021. The project is projected to generate roughly 47GWh of solar electricity annually, which is sufficient to power over 13,000 households.
• Etrion Corporation has entered into an 18-year power purchase agreement with Tohoku, under which it will be paid JPY36 (approximately USD0.33) per kWh of electricity produced.
• This transaction represents the first green loan from Japan in the second half of 2019 and the first green loan used to finance renewable energy within the country.
