• B.Grimm Power Public Company Ltd issued a green bond on December 20, 2018, for THB5bn (USD153m) via private placement, with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) acting as the sole investor.
• The proceeds of the bond are designated for the financing of 7 new solar generation assets and the refinancing of 9 existing solar generation assets in Thailand, which have capacities of 31.5MW and 67MW respectively.
• The issuance represents the first Certified Climate Bond from a Thailand-based issuer and the first from a non-financial corporate issuer in that country. It is the third such bond from the ASEAN region, following issuances by AP Renewable in 2016 and CDL Property in 2017.
