Green Bond Fact Sheet

The City of Minneapolis issued a USD 96 million green bond on 31 October 2018 to fund a new Public Service Center and an East Side Storage and Maintenance Facility, both of which are committed to LEED Gold certification. The bond, which matures in 2046, was reviewed by Kestrel Verifiers and represents the second such issuance from a Minnesota issuer in 2018.

• The City of Minneapolis, Minnesota issued a USD 96 million US Muni green bond on 31 October 2018 with a maturity date of 1 December 2046 and a tenor of 28 years. This issuance was the second US Muni green bond from a Minnesota issuer in 2018, following one from the City of Saint Paul.
• Proceeds from the bond are designated for two specific building projects: a new Public Service Center for the police and other public services departments, and a new East Side Storage and Maintenance Facility for vehicle maintenance and solid waste and recycling operations. The issuer has committed to achieving LEED Gold certification for both facilities.
• The bond received an external review from Kestrel Verifiers, although this review is not publicly available. The issuer intends to report the allocation of proceeds annually via the EMMA website.
