Green Bond Fact Sheet

Ricoh Leasing Company issued a JPY10bn (USD91m) 5-year green bond on 07-Sept-2018 to refinance 11 solar power facilities in Japan. This marks the first entry of a Japanese leasing company into the green bond market. The assets are expected to generate 30,001MW and reduce emissions by 15,701t per year.

• Ricoh Leasing Company issued a 5-year green bond on 07-Sept-2018 for JPY10bn (USD91m) with a maturity date of 07-Sept-2023. The bond received a Green 1 rating from the Japan Credit Rating Agency.
• The proceeds from the bond are intended to refinance 11 solar power generating facilities in Japan by repaying previously issued Commercial Paper. These assets are projected to have a total average power generation of 30,001MW and reduce annual emissions by 15,701t.
• Ricoh Leasing Company is the first leasing company in Japan to enter the green bond market. This issuance contributed to a total of USD803m in issuance for Japan in 2018.
• Environmental impacts will be measured via CO2 emissions reductions, which will be reviewed by the Japan Credit Rating Authority and disclosed on the issuer's website. No allocation reporting is expected because all proceeds are for Commercial Paper redemption, though the issuer will report if unallocated proceeds arise.
