• The statement urges the Special Rapporteur to investigate the human rights implications of 'false solutions' to climate change, such as geoengineering, and to systematically examine human rights violations linked to the financing, use, export, and extraction of fossil fuels.
• CIEL supports the Special Rapporteur's consideration of intergenerational justice, noting that over 70 constitutions already recognize this principle alongside a growing number of judicial precedents regarding State duties.
