Implementing the Principles of the Public Participating Convention in International Organizations

The study focuses on distilling principles from the draft Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-Making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters to enhance public participation in international organizations. It intends to examine existing participation opportunities in international fora where UNECE Member States are active and identify methods for Parties to further promote these principles within those institutions.

• The study intends to identify both current methods by which international institutions promote public participation principles and future ways that Parties to the draft Convention can further these principles within international institutions.
