• On 11 February 2019, the Centre for Environmental Rights (CER) requested access to information regarding Pollution Prevention Plans and Greenhouse Gas reporting records, specifically seeking databases of registered data providers and persons submitting plans, as well as reports from several named entities including Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd, Sasol Ltd, and ArcelorMittal South Africa Ltd.
• The Department stated it does not possess reports submitted under regulation 7(1) of the National Greenhouse Gas Emission Reporting Regulations, 2017 for Petmin Ltd, Mbuyelo Coal Pty Ltd, and Kuyasa Mining Pty Ltd.
• The Department reported that it is not in possession of pollution prevention plans under regulation 3(2) or annual progress reports under regulation 5(1) of the National Pollution Prevention Plan Regulations, 2017 for several entities, including Anglo American Plc, Petmin Ltd, Mbuyelo Coal Pty Ltd, Kuyasa Mining Pty Ltd, Gold Fields Ltd, Seriti Resources Holdings Pty Ltd, Glencore, Exxaro Recourses Ltd, PPC Ltd, and South 32 (Samancor Manganese Pty Ltd).
