REQUEST FOR WRITTEN REASONS: INTEGRATED RESOURCE PLAN FOR ELECTRICITY, 2019

The Centre for Environmental Rights (CER), acting on behalf of groundWork and Earthlife Africa NPC, sent a follow-up letter to Minister Gwede Mantashe on 13 December 2019, requesting written reasons for the updated Integrated Resource Plan for Electricity (IRP) published on 18 October 2019.

• The Centre for Environmental Rights (CER) is requesting written reasons from the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy regarding the updated Integrated Resource Plan for Electricity (IRP) published on 18 October 2019. This request is made on behalf of clients groundWork and Earthlife Africa NPC.
• The CER had previously requested these reasons by 5 December 2019, but as of 13 December 2019, no response had been received. The CER has set a new deadline for the response of 3 February 2020.
