LAND DEVELOPMENT APPLICATION: ATHA AFRICA VENTURES (PTY) LTD

• The appeal submitted on 8 January 2019 is officially withdrawn, although the applicant requests that the content of the appeal be provided to the Tribunal to clarify the interpretation of the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act, 2013 (SPLUMA).
• The applicant requests that the matter proceed to an MPT hearing, that all parties receive ample notice of the date, and that the municipality's full recommendation report be distributed to all parties in advance.
• Due to the withdrawal of the appeal and the move toward an MPT hearing, a petition submitted by the Centre for Environmental Rights on 29 January 2019 to be granted intervener status is no longer relevant.
