This document is a draft written reply from the South African Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs to a National Assembly question (No. 1738) posed by Mr G R Morgan (DA). The reply details the number of general authorisations issued under the National Water Act, Act 36 of 1998, in the Mpumalanga and North West provinces since 1 April 2010.

• Since 1 April 2010, the Department of Water and Environmental Affairs issued three general authorisations in Mpumalanga and seven general authorisations in North West under the National Water Act, 1998 (Act No. 36 of 1998).
• In Mpumalanga, general authorisations were issued to Mr P G Schaefer (24 June 2010), Jack Lodge Consortium (30 September 2010), and K’Shani Golf and Nature (11 October 2010).
• In North West, general authorisations were issued to the following entities between 7 May 2010 and 13 May 2011: CH&S J Terblanche Handelaars cc, G Johnston, Afridizi Bottling Company (Pty) Ltd, Cosmos Outsourcing (Pty) Ltd, C J Annandale, Sable Holdings (Pty) Ltd, and Main Street 361 (Pty) Ltd.
