What a moment to be returning to our work at CAPE

Anjali Helferty, Deputy Executive Director of the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment (CAPE), discusses her return from parental leave and the renewed urgency of CAPE's work in the face of returning proposals for cross-country pipelines.

• The Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment (CAPE) has focused its recent efforts on several key policy areas: reforming the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA), establishing national environmental justice legislation, prohibiting fossil fuel advertising, combating greenwashing, and supporting federal climate legislation such as the Clean Electricity Regulations and an oil and gas emissions cap.
• Despite a period where cross-country pipeline projects in Canada appeared to be ending, there is a renewed emergence of these projects, which Helferty describes as "zombies rising once again."
• CAPE continues to express solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en peoples in their opposition to the Coastal GasLink pipeline.
